Recent Trip Advisor Review: Secrets Sanctuary

From time to time, we like to feature recent reviews from guests at our resorts. Check out this one from TripAdvisor user, wickedcute, which was posted on 7/22/10 about her stay with us at Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana. The review, which was titled, “We Can’t Wait to Return!” provides details regarding the staff, restaurants, pool, grounds, room, beach and more. Below are a few highlights from the review:

Staff- Carlos from Recreation, Miami, Richard, Alfredo, Americo, Braulio, Cuello, Eva, Griselda, Heidy, Delores, Joseph, Pedro, Guzman and so many more. You are the best, and are sorely missed. Yes, I took  note of their names as they are to be commended. They are all trying very, very hard to please. I can’t wait to go back and see how their English has progressed. Carlos and company have an English teacher to aid in their learning and they are doing better everyday. I also tried practicing my Spanish and ordered in Spanish. They helped me with the pronunciation, so it was a learning experience for everyone.

Pool chairs and blue floats- I really do get a kick out of this game, especially this morning. Woke up late to a pounding rain, which was ok, considering when it dried up I got to enjoy people’s faces leaving the pool area with their saturated magazines and books that they used to hold “their” seats. Blue floats are another story. There would be plenty if not for the hoarders. I don’t use them so I don’t care, but it certainly is entertaining. Someday I am just going to get up the nerve and gather them up and throw them all back in the pool. Maybe after a few Coco Loco’s fbbb5 icon smile Recent Trip Advisor Review: Secrets Sanctuary Are there enough lounge chairs? Yes, there seems to be plenty at all the pools. If there isn’t, then reserve a swim out suite where you are guaranteed a seat!

Grounds- The property is quite large and spread out. Very hilly in a few spots. The bellmen will gladly drive you in the golf carts. We used them on many occasions! The landscaping is well manicured and is constantly being worked on. While we were there, there was a strong easterly wind that washed up some seaweed. The “Picky Plants” employees kept the beach clean by raking up any that washed on shore.

Room- Tastefully decorated. Full sized mirror, flat screen TV, plenty of lighting. Didn’t really spend any time in the room except for sleeping, hung out on the lanai which had 2 chairs, 2 footrests and 2 chaise lounges with big fluffy towels! TV is Dish Network and the “local” news was…….Denver, Colorado! I found this hilarious as I had the TV on while sitting on the couch, listening to the weather. High of 97 with a chance of severe storms….walked over to look at the weatherman…..and he was pointing to the Denver area LOL! Our weather was much better than Denver’s that particular day!

Beach- I never go in the water, more of a pool person. The beach is small but very nice. The blue water is amazing. To the south is a bigger, private beach said to be The Donald’s and to the north is Juanillo Beach. Perfect for strolling.

Coming back? Absolutely. Made many friends while there. Can’t wait to experience the new spa!
